the word of mu

The World of Mu was a Multiplayer Role-Playing Game programmed in Java as a desktop application released on March 10th, 2013, after a year of part-time work (as a hobby during my undergraduate studies). Its development started right after learning JFrames for Java in my first year of my BSc degree.

The game was based on the 3D fantasy Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game Mu: Continent of Legend, produced by Webzen, all rights reserved.

The World of mu is a visually simple game, where the player has to level up to became more powerful and kill his enemy, Kundun, the evil god of the World of Mu, who fights fiercely to regain control of this world. The player can use items dropped by different monsters to raise his defense and attack, make quests and works to gain experience and money, play mini games to win special prizes, enter the different Rankings and be the best between other players. 13 regions, 85 monsters, 116 items, 5 pet types, 8 quest types and much more were available for the user.

Monsters, story, characters, images, music, etc., were taken/based on the original online game Mu: Continent of Legend, or made specifically for the game.

Images and information for the game were taken from Guía Mu Online on www.guiamuonline.com to which I appreciate their help, as well to my sister, who made some of the images.

For some extra details about the game, tutorials and FAQ, a blog was developed for the release and help players with everything they need for the game. It can still be accessed here. However, the game is not longer available for downloading.

The next shows some screenshots of the game.
